Cuba's Technical Investigations Directorate (DTI) said on Sunday that it has busted a network of banknote forgers, operating in the capital city Havana and faking both Cuban and international currency.
A DTI source told Cuban weekly Tribuna de La Havana that a man known as Aramis had been jailed for 10 years for falsifying banknotes in Diezmero, a neighborhood in the Havana municipality of San Miguel del Padron.
He had been helped by three distributors who took a commission for each banknote they managed to get into circulation.
