font size

Three bombs exploded in Thai southern province of Narathiwat Monday morning, causing at least three policemen seriously injured, a local police source told Xinhua.

The three bombs, planted in Ru So district by Thai southern insurgents, were all remote-triggered by mobile signal, police said.

The blasts at 10:00 a.m. (0300 GMT) also damaged several nearby buildings and cars.

Hours ago, a bomb exploded in nearby Yala Province and killed an army major.

On Sunday night, a total of 24 bombs exploded across the four southernmost provinces of Narathiwat, Yala, Pattani and Songkhla, killing at least six and injuring more than 50 others.
