An Algerian senate delegation will take part in the 49th session of Arab Parliamentary Union (APU), which is to be held in Jordan from Feb. 26 to 27, according to an official statement issued by the senate on Saturday.

The delegation will be led by Houd Mouissa, vice president of the senate.

During the session, participants are expected to discuss the Middle East situation, especially in Palestine, Iraq and Lebanon, as well as issues related to the Arab common market and the fight against corruption, according to the statement.

They will also elect a new APU secretary general for the period of 2007-2008.
