font size

Thai authorities are set to seek arrest warrants for three more suspects involved in the Chinese New Year attacks in the deep south, after 23 other suspects have already been either identified or detained, Thai media reported Monday.

A string of bombings, arsons and shooting attacks took place on the night of Feb. 18, amid festivities of the Chinese New Year in Thailand's four southernmost provinces -- Songkhla, Narathiwat, Yala and Pattani, killing six victims and injuring more than 50 others. The attacks continued into the next day, with one more killed and some others injured.

The Royal Thai Army's spokesman Colonel Akara Tipparoj was quoted by news network The Nation as saying on Sunday that of 23 suspects already being identified or arrested, five are from Yala, 11 from Pattani and seven others from Narathiwat.
