Chinese shares open slightly higher on Feb. 26

Chinese shares opened higher on Monday, the first trading day after the Chinese lunar New Year holiday, as the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index opened at 2,999.09 points.

The index was up by 0.61 points, or 0.02 percent higher.

The index tracks both the yuan-denominated A shares and hard-currency B shares traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
