Crude prices fall
font size

Crude oil prices fell Friday as the stock market decline raised concerns on economic growth.

Light, sweet crude for April delivery fell 36 cents to 61.64 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange while Brent crude for April lost 3 cents at 62.08 dollars a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange in London.

Wall Street ended its worst week in more than four years on Friday with the Dow Jones average fell 4.22 percent following heavy sell-off in Asian and European markets.

Crude prices rose to 62 dollars a barrel Thursday as the Energy Information Administration said gasoline inventories fell by 1.9 million barrels to 220.2 million barrels, and distillate inventories fell by 3.8 million barrels to 124.5 million barrels last week.
