Macedonia ranks 83rd among the most attractive traveling destinations and tourism development in a World Economic Forum's report, news reaching Tirana from Skopje reported on Friday.
The report, Travel and Tourism Competitiveness 2007, covers 124 countries across the world and puts the index of Macedonia's tourism at 3.81, Makfax, Macedonia's independent news agency, said.
According to the report, the most attractive travel and tourist destinations in the world are Switzerland, Austria and Germany. The top 10 list includes Iceland, the United States, Hong Kong, Canada, Singapore, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom.
Greece has the highest rank (24th) among southeast European countries, followed by Croatia (38th), Turkey (52nd), Bulgaria ( 54th), Serbia and Montenegro (61st) and Romania (76th). Albania and Bosnia have lower ranks than that of Macedonia, at 90th and 104th respectively.
