font size

China was extremely supportive of the peace process in Nepal, a UN envoy to Nepal has said.

At a program organized in New York on Friday by the Asian Society, Ian Martin, special representative of the United Nations Secretary General to Nepal, said: "So far China has been extremely supportive from my perspective of the UN's role."

The Asian Society is an organization dedicated to strengthening relationships and deepening understanding among the peoples of Asia and the United States, The Kathmandu Post reported on Sunday.

Martin is currently in New York to brief the UN's Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions, to get a full budget for the UN Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) approved.
