Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse left here Sunday evening, concluding his week-long state visit to China.

Rajapakse visited Beijing, Shanghai in east China, Guangzhou in south China, and central China's Hubei province.

As the year 2007 marks the 50th anniversary of China-Sri Lanka diplomatic ties, Rajapakse attended a grand reception to celebrate this event.

Rajapakse also presented three gifts to China, including a replica of a Buddha statue, a baby elephant and two corneas.

China and Sri Lanka signed eight agreements and memorandums of understanding to enhance bilateral cooperation in various areas during his visit to China.
