The Communist Party of Nepal ( Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN-UML) will walk out of the government if the Interim Government is not formed by mid-March, General secretary of CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal warned on Monday, local leading media group's website THT Online reported.
Saying that delay in the formation of the Interim Government is due to the issue of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (CPN-M) arms management, general secretary Nepal said the nation would face a great challenge if the Interim Government is not formed soon and date for Constituent Assembly (CA) polls is not fixed at the earliest.
Nepal added that discussions with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and other political parties regarding the issues of interim government and CA polls are going on.
Stating that the unity of eight parties was only till CA polls, Nepal said this unity would break up if the CA polls were not held within stipulated time.
Nepal made such remarks in Gulmi district, some 300 km west of capital Kathmandu. He went to Gulmi to inaugurate the eighth district convention of CPN-UML.
CPN-UML and CPN-M are the duo No. 2 parties in the Interim Parliament formed on Jan. 15.
