Malaysia will soon place labor attaches at its embassies in countries which send migrant workers to this country, Human Resources Minister Fong Chan Onn said Monday.
Those attaches would come from the labor department under the ministry and will be posted in countries which are major suppliers of foreign workers such as Indonesia and Nepal, Fong told reporters in the eastern state of Sabah.
"We are hoping these labor officers will be dispatched as soon as possible," Fong was quoted as saying by local newspaper The Star on its website.
Among duties on the shoulders of those labor officers, they should give suggestions to prospective foreign workers on working conditions in Malaysia, Fong added.
