Nepali government has decided to publicize a report on the excesses and abuse of authority during King Gyanendra's direct rule, local newspaper The Himalayan Times reported Tuesday.
"The cabinet has decided to make the report public," said Minister of State for Information and Communication, Dilendra Prasad Badu, on Monday.
According to the decision, the report submitted by the fact- finding Rayamajhi Commission would be tabled to the Interim Parliament.
The decision came amidst intense pressure on the government to bring out whatever was done during the direct rule by King Gyanendra from Feb. 1, 2005 to April 2006.
The Rayamajhi Commission, which was headed by former judge of Supreme Court Krishna Jung Rayamajhi, suggested that the king, by virtue of being head of the government, has been found abusing authority.
The probe into excesses during the royal regime had gone under way following a cabinet decision of May last year. The report was handed over to Nepali government by the end of 2006.
