Syrian officials met on Thursday with visiting Iranian First Vice President Parviz Davoudi on regional issues and bilateral relations, the official SANA news agency reported.
Davoudi held talks with his Syrian counterpart Farouk al-Shara on the latest developments in the region, particularly in Iraq, the Palestinian lands and Lebanon, the report said.
The two sides shared identical viewpoints on the issues, particularly defeating attempts to provoke sedition and separation to achieve greed of superpowers which do not wish good to the region and its peoples, the report said.
They also stressed the importance of further consultation and coordination between the two countries on current challenges.
Davoudi also held a meeting with Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Ottri on prospects of bilateral cooperation in energy, transport, industry and housing.
Earlier in the day, the Iranian vice president attended the inauguration of the first stage of a joint Syrian-Iranian automobile factory.
