font size

Two Taliban insurgents were killed and four others injured during their clash with Afghan security forces in the southern Zabul province, a local senior police officer said Sunday.

Taliban fighters raided a police checkpoint in Spin Ghabarga outside Zabul's provincial capital Qalat on Saturday night, and the police fought back, Ghulam Rabbani told Xinhua, adding two enemies were killed and four others were wounded.

There were no casualties of the policemen, he added.

Rising Taliban-linked insurgency has killed over 400 people, mostly militants, in Afghanistan this year.
