Six-party talks economy, energy working group meeting held in BeijingThe six parties to the Korean Peninsular nuclear talks held a working group meeting on economy and energy cooperation on Thursday afternoon. The meeting, held at the embassy of the Republic of Korea (ROK) in Beijing, was attended by the ROK's chief negotiator Chun Yung Woo and officials of the other five parties. The sixth round of talks, involving China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the United States, ROK, Japan and Russia, is scheduled to start on March 19. According to the Feb. 13 joint document, the six parties agreed on the establishment of five working groups on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, normalization of DPRK-U.S. relations, normalization of DPRK-Japan relations, economy and energy cooperation as well as Northeast Asia peace and security mechanism.
