Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met with special envoy Taieb Fassi Fihri of the Moroccan King on Friday, pledging to further expand bilateral cooperation in various areas.
Tang said during Chinese President Hu Jintao's successful visit to Morocco in April last year, the two heads of state reached broad consensus on deepening bilateral ties, which injected new vigor into the development of the ties.
He expressed his hope that both sides will make concerted efforts to implement the consensus reached between the two heads of state, and push forward bilateral cooperation in various fields.
Fihri, also Moroccan minister delegate of foreign affairs and cooperation, said the two heads of state exchanged visits in recent years, and opened a new chapter for bilateral cooperation in various fields.
The Moroccan side will work with the Chinese side to promote bilateral relations and deepen the friendship and cooperation between Africa and China, he said.
Both sides also exchanged views on regional issues.
Earlier on Friday, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing met with Fihri, and they exchanged opinions on bilateral ties as well as international and regional issues of common concern.
