Stocks at Sao Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) fell by 3.18 percent this week, following a weak performance at the U.S. stock markets on Friday.
On Friday, Bovespas benchmark index was down 1.27 percent, reaching 42,730 points. According to Bovespas press office, 2.62 billion reais (1.25 billion U.S. dollars) were traded in the Brazilian stock market on Friday.
The price for the U.S. dollar was up 0.14 percent to 2.09 reais, and Brazil's emerging bond markets index, measured by JP Morgan, registered a drop of 1.03 percent, reaching 191 points.
In the March 12-16 period, the highest proportional loss was registered in ordinary shares of telecommunications company TIM (Telecom Italia Mobile), which went down 10.59 percent.
