    Pakistan's Gwadar Port begins operating with Chinese assistance

    The opening ceremony for Pakistan's Gwadar Port, which is being operated with Chinese assistance, was held in Gwadar, Baluchistan Province in Southeastern Pakistan on March 20, 2007. Gwadar Port, located in the southwestern Pakistani province of Baluchistan, is a deep-water port that has been constructed with Chinese financial and technical support.Work began on Gwadar Port in March 2002 and has an all-purpose dock with three 20,000-ton berths. The port is China's biggest foreign aid project to date.
