SCO to expand cooperation in economic and humanity fields

"SCO focuses on economic cooperation among the six member states so that economic and trade cooperation can produce tangible fruits and living standards of their peoples can be raised," Bolat Nurgaliyev, the secretary-general of the Shanghai Cooperation (SCO) said as he answered the questions from netizens on Friday.

"Another cooperation field that enjoys priority is humanity that includes ecology, public health, education, culture and hi-tech. Cooperation in these fields will serve create larger cultural space and common spirit within the organization," Nurgaliyev added.

Bolat Nurgaliyev paid a visit Friday afternoon to the People's Daily Online where he talked to netizens under the theme of "SCO and peace, development of today's world" on the Strong China Forum, a feature of People's Daily Online.
