Sino-Pakistan friendship source of strength, stability in region: PM

Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Friday said Pakistan is proud of its deep and multi-faceted relationship with China and this relationship is a source of strength and stability in the region.

"Pakistan as a close friend of China shares a sense of common history, values and destinies," Aziz said.

He made the remarks while he was meeting with a 100-member Chinese youth delegation who are currently in Pakistan for a friendly visit, according to the state-run Associated Press of Pakistan.

Aziz said that Pakistan and China enjoy a broad-based relationship as the two countries are actively cooperating in political, diplomatic, social, economic, defense and security fields.

Pakistan considers China's economic growth and tremendous transformation as a great model of growth, peace and prosperity, and it is a source of pride and strength for the developing countries, especially for Pakistan, he said.

The joint production of JF-17 Thunder Aircraft holds strategic significance for Pakistan, Aziz said, adding "JF-17 Thunder Aircraft is the symbol of Pakistan-China friendship."

The prime minister also said that the youth are important for their country, and the role of Pakistani and Chinese youth is very important for further strengthening the good relationship between the two countries in the future.
