The U.S. Deputy Assistant Treasury Secretary Daniel Glaser met with Chinese Foreign Ministry officials on Monday, U.S. embassy to China confirmed Monday.

The two sides discussed the frozen funds of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) at the Macao-based Banco Delta Asia (BDA). Both sides expressed the hope to address this issue as quickly as possible, U.S. embassy said.

Glaser arrived in Beijing on Sunday afternoon after the six-party talks on Korean Peninsula nuclear issue entered recess over the frozen funds issue.

The six-party talks recessed last Thursday. Top Chinese envoy to the six-party talks Wu Dawei said it would restart soon.
