The Communist Party of China (CPC) is ready to cement ties with the Working People's Progressive Party (WPPP) of Cyprus so as to further promote country-to-country relations, said a senior CPC official Thursday.

He Yong, a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and deputy secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made the remarks when meeting with a delegation from WPPP, led by Venizelos Zannettos, a member of the WPPP Secretariat and the party's economic secretary.

"The CPC is willing to further enhance relations with the WPPP on the basis of the four principles of party exchanges, and push forward country-to-country friendly ties," He said.

Zannettos appreciated China's achievements in its economic construction. He said his party highly values its friendly relations with the CPC, and hopes to promote comprehensive bilateral ties through party exchanges.
