Macao's exports and imports saw year-on-year rise of 29.2 percent and 14.4 percent respectively in February, according to official statistics issued on Friday.

The figures released by the government-run Statistics and Census Services (SCS) showed that textile and garment exports, which accounted for 65.0 percent of Macao's total export value in the month, witnessed a year-on-year drop of 18.0 percent.

The United States and the European Union remained as Macao's major export markets in the period, jointly making up 60.3 percent of the total export value, the figures showed.

Meanwhile, the region's major suppliers of imported goods remained mainly in Asia, the statistics displayed.
