font size

Crude prices traded lower Friday after reaching a six-month closing high the previous session.

Light, sweet crude futures for May delivery declined 8 cents to 65.95 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Brent crude for May delivery jumped 66 cents to 68.54 dollars a barrel on London's ICE Futures exchange.

Crude prices surged on Iranian tensions as the country Iran detained 15 British soldiers last week.

Crude May delivery rose 1.95 dollars, or 3 percent, to 66.03 dollars a barrel on Thursday, the highest closing since Sept. 8.
