Nepali PM resigns, Interim Gov't to be formed
font size

Nepali Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala resigned in the Interim Parliament. Nepali Interim Government is to be formed in Kathmandu on Sunday.

Nepali Seven-party Alliance government is dissolved as PM Koirala resigned. After decade-long civil war, the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (CPN-M) is to join the to-be-formed Interim Government.

The biggest ever people's movement in Nepal's history overthrew the king's regime in April, 2006. Both Seven-party Alliance (SPA) and CPN-M played their role to make the movement a success.

The SPA government was set up in April 30, 2006.
