Gabonese president to attend Wade's inauguration ceremony

Gabonese President Omar Bongo Ondimba will attend the inauguration ceremony of his Senegalese counterpart Abdoulaye Wade, official sources said on Monday.

The Gabonese president is scheduled to leave Libreville on Monday.

The inauguration ceremony which is expected to be attended by about 20 African leaders is planned to take place on Tuesday at the biggest stadium in Dakar, capital city of Senegal, according to the same sources.

Elected president for the first time in 2000, Senegalese President Wade, 80, was re-elected on Feb. 25, 2007 by garnering 56 percent of all the valid votes cast during the first round of presidential elections in which he competed against 14 other candidates.
