The Speaker of Algerian Senate Abdelkader Bensalah left for Dakar on Monday to attend the inauguration ceremony of Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade, according to the APS News Agency.

Bensalah will represent Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika at the ceremony scheduled to take place on Tuesday, according to the same source.

About 20 African heads of state and government are expected to be present during the inauguration ceremony, which will be held at the biggest stadium in Dakar, capital city of Senegal.

Elected president for the first time in 2000, Senegalese President Wade, 80, was re-elected on Feb. 25, 2007 by garnering 56 percent of all the valid votes cast during the first round of presidential elections in which he competed against 14 other candidates.
