Malaysia posted a trade surplus of 7.6 billion ringgit (2.17 billion U.S.dollars) in February this year, up 2.9 percent year-on-year, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry said in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.
It was the 112th consecutive month that the country saw a trade surplus since November 1997.
According to the ministry, the country's exports for the month were recorded at 41.10 billion ringgit (11.74 billion ringgit), down 2.8 percent compared with the same month of last year.
Imports for the month also went down 4 percent to 33.50 billion ringgit (9.57 billion U.S.dollars) year-on-year.
Total trade value was recorded at 74.61 billion ringgit (21.31 billion U.S.dollars )in the month.
