China, Sudan vow to boost military exchangesChina and Sudan Tuesday agreed to boost friendly cooperation between the two countries and the two armies. "Friendly contacts and cooperation between the two armies have continued to develop smoothly in recent years," said Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan when meeting with Chief of Joint Staff of Sudanese armed forces Haj Ahmed El Gaili here Tuesday. China and Sudan have enjoyed profound friendship though the two are far apart, said Cao, who is also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission and state councilor. China is ready to work with Sudan to further bilateral cooperation in various fields, said Cao. Haj Ahmed El Gaili appreciated China's long-term support to Sudan, saying Sudan sticks to the one China policy and hopes to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two armies. He also expressed hope that China make more efforts on the issue Darfur. Haj Ahmed El Gaili, who arrived Sunday, is here on an eight-day visit as guest of Chief of General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Liang Guanglie.
