He Luli, vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), said here Tuesday afternoon that China highly values relations with Pakistan and will continue to promote cooperation between the two countries.

She made the remarks when meeting a delegation from Pakistan's Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production.

China and Pakistan understand, trust and support one another and regard each other as reliable friends, she stressed.

The leader of the delegation, committee chairman Nisar A Memon said that the Pakistan Senate will step up cooperation with the NPC and play an active role in boosting bilateral relations.
