Chief of the Nepal Police has issued orders to police officers to take necessary actions to stop rallies, demonstrations, blockades and general strikes, reported local newspaper The Kathmandu Post Wednesday.
The order was issued on Tuesday a day after newly constituted interim government's Home Minister Krishna Sitaula said that the government will now take severe action in order to maintain law and order.
Summoning all senior police officials to the police headquarters, Inspector General of Police Om Bikram Rana asked them to take any action to create conducive environment for peaceful elections due to be held on June 20.
