China and Austria on Wednesday agreed to further links between the two countries' parliaments.

"The National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, would like to enhance exchanges and cooperation with the Austrian Parliament," NPC Standing Committee vice chairwoman He Luli told Anna Haselbach, vice president of the Federal Council of the Austrian Parliament.

He briefed Haselbach on the topics covered in China's latest legislative session, which ran from March 5 to 16.

Haselbach said she has seen tremendous changes in China in the course of six visits over the past 15 years.

Beijing was the last leg of her China visit. The six-day visit also took her to China's economic hub Shanghai and the northern province of Shanxi.

Haselbach said the Austrian parliament would like to boost Austria-China ties.
