Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is to attend the 3rd meeting of the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on May 28 to 29, the chairman of the forum said in Jakarta Thursday.
WIEF Chairman Dato Tun Musa Hitam, who is visiting Malaysia, told a press conference after meeting with President Susilo at the presidential office that four other heads of state and a number of ministers and businessmen from Islamic countries would also take part in the annual meeting.
One of the aims of the meeting is to build an economic cooperation among the Islamic countries, he said, adding the interest of the countries could be channeled in the forum.
"He (President Susilo) along with other world leaders will come to Kuala Lumpur to attend this conference," he said.
Indonesian state spokesman Dino Pati Djalal said the agenda that would be delivered by Indonesia is under consideration.
Indonesia is the biggest Muslim country in Southeast Asia, and 87 percent of its 240 million population Muslims, most of them moderates.
