Vietnam's service exports up in Q1

Vietnam earned nearly 1.3 billion U. S. dollars from exporting services in the first quarter of this year, up 14.5 percent over the same period last year.

In March alone, the country posted service export revenues of 435 million dollars, a year-on-year rise of 14.5 percent, according to the Trade Information Center under the Vietnamese Trade Ministry on Friday.

Vietnam earned 5.1 billion dollars from exporting services, including tourism, air transport, telecommunications and insurance, in 2006, up from nearly 4.3 billion dollars in 2005.
