Dollar hovers at upper 118 yen in Tokyo

The U.S. dollar hovered around the upper 118 yen on Friday in Tokyo.

At 5:00 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 118.78-81 yen against Thursday's 5:00 p.m. quotes of 118.69-79 yen in New York and 118. 72-74 yen in Tokyo.

The dollar moved between 118.69 and 118.90 yen during the day, changing hands most frequently at 118.75 yen.

The euro was quoted at 1.3417-3420 dollars and 159.40-44 yen compared with Thursday's 5:00 p.m. quotes of 1.3425-3435 dollars and 159.37-47 yen in New York and 1.3369-3371 dollars and 158.72- 76 yen in Tokyo.
