Croatian parliament leader hopes for steady development of relations with ChinaThe Deputy Speaker of the Croatian Assembly and President of People's Party, Vesna Pusic, said on Friday that her party is willing to further consolidate and develop cooperation with the Communist Party of China (CPC) and jointly push for the steady development of relations between the two parties and the two nations. While meeting visiting CPC delegation led by Ma Wenpu, vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, Pusic said People's Party is the first party in Croatia to establish relations with the CPC. She added that recent years have witnessed smooth development of relations between the two parties and China's deepening influence over the Balkan region. Also on Friday, the CPC delegation also met vice-president of the Croatian Social Liberal Party and vice-president of the Social Democratic Party. The CPC delegation arrived in Zagreb Tuesday for a four-day visit at the invitation of Croatia's ruing party, the Croatian Democratic Union, which was set up in 1989 and is currently the most powerful party in the country.
