Kazakhstan releases new national military theory

Kazakhstan on Saturday released its new national military theory, stressing the need to deepen its strategic partnership with China and Russia based on common regional political and military interests.

Kazakhstan will focus on enhancing its military and military technological cooperation with members of the CIS Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and setting up a unified defense space to ensure collective military security.

It will reinforce cooperation with the United States on the modernization of military equipment, transfer of military technology, personnel training, and construction of military infrastructure.

And it will also expand military and military technological cooperation with central Asian countries and other countries in the fields of joint military exercise, exchange of experience on anti-terrorism and peace-keeping missions.

The doctrine stipulates that Kazakhstan will conduct international military and military technological cooperation on the basis of equality, mutual benefit and being a good neighbor and safeguard national, regional and global stability and security.

The Interfax news agency reported Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has signed the decree to approve the new doctrine.
