Germany's trade surplus witnessed a year-on-year increase in February, showed a provisional data released by the Federal Statistical Office on Tuesday.
The trade surplus stood at 14.2 billion euros (19.1 billion U.S. dollars). The figure was 12.7 billion euros (17.08 billion dollars) in the same month in 2006, the Wiesbaden-based office said.
After seasonal adjustments, Germany's trade surplus in February was 13.8 billion euros (18.56 billion dollars).
Germany's exported commodities reached 77.6 billion euros (104.38billion dollars), a rise of 10.9 percent compared to February 2006.
Imports also rose by 10.9 percent to 63.4 billion euros (85.28 billion dollars).
After seasonal adjustments, exports increased 1.9 percent over January, while imports rose 5.6 percent, the office said.
