The United States expects the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to fulfill its obligations according to the deal reached in February, the State Department said Wednesday.

"We would expect North Korea to act in such a way that they would meet their obligations under the February 13 agreement," State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said.

A U.S. delegation, led by New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson and former veteran affairs secretary Anthony Principi, visited Pyongyang to ensure the DPRK fulfill its obligations under the February deal.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Treasury Department said Tuesday that the United States supports the Macanese authorities to unblock all DPRK-related accounts currently frozen in the Banco Delta Asia.

The DPRK funds were frozen after the United States blacklisted the Macanese bank for allegedly helping Pyongyang launder money. However, the bank has denied any wrongdoing.

The dispute over the frozen funds has put a gloomy prospect over whether the DPRK can meet a deadline of beginning to shut down its nuclear program as stipulated in the Feb. 13 nuclear agreement.
