Jordan condemns bombing blasts in Algeria
font size

Jordanian King Abdullah II on Wednesday sent a cablegram to Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to condemn the terrorist bombings in Algiers earlier in the day.

According to Jordan's official news agency Petra, Abdullah described the bombings in the cablegram as "terrorist and cowardly acts that are nothing to do with Islam and Islamic ethics."

Affirming Jordan's support to Algeria in face of such terrorist operations, the king also expressed his condolences to families of the victims and wished speedy recovery to the injured.

Two bomb blasts took place almost simultaneously Wednesday morning against the prime minister's headquarters in the central Algiers and the Bab Essouar police station.

According to the official provisional figures, 23 people died and 162 others injured in the attacks.
