Indonesia strongly condemned twin bombings in the Algerian capital of Algiers on Wednesday which left 30 people dead and more than 100 others injured, the Foreign Affairs Ministry said Thursday.
"The Indonesian government offers its deepest sympathy and condolence to the government of Algeria and the families of the victims, and expresses hope that the perpetrators will be arrested as soon as possible," the ministry's spokesman Kristiarto Legowo told the national Antara news agency.
He said the bombings in Algiers reminded the international community that terrorism was a real threat anywhere in the world.
Indonesia itself has seen a series of deadly bombings since the October 2002 attacks on two nightclubs on Bali island that killed over 200 people, mostly foreigners.
"In light of this, the Indonesian government reminds the world of the importance of international cooperation to deal with international terrorism," the spokesman said.
