font size

Egypt on Thursday strongly condemned Wednesday's twin blasts in Algeria as a heinous crime by terrorist groups.

In a statement, Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit stressed the necessity to coordinate stances and unify ranks in confronting these maverick groups which intended to spread panic and sabotage.

Abul Gheit reaffirmed Egypt's support to the Algerian people and government to face terrorist acts. He also expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims.

Two bomb blasts, one of which was targeting the prime minister's headquarters, shook Algiers the capital of Algeria on Wednesday, leaving at least 23 people dead and 162 others injured.
