Chinese, Cuban foreign ministers agree to promote cooperationChinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing and his Cuban counterpart Felipe Perez Roque held talks in Beijing on Monday, with a cooperation agreement signed between them. Li told Perez China attaches great importance to its relations with Cuba and is ready to work with Cuban to deepen the friendship, promote mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields and enhance the continuous in-depth growth of bilateral ties. Perez said it is of strategic significance to strengthen Cuban-China relations and Cuba is ready to further exchanges and dialogues and expand cooperation in various fields. The two also exchanged views on some international and regional issues of shared concern and signed a cooperation agreement, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry. But no details of the agreement were given. Perez, who arrived Sunday night for a four-day official visit, will meet with Vice President Zeng Qinghong later Monday and State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan Tuesday.
