EU is not rivaling with China, but working and growing together with China. This is the core of EU's China policy, the EU Ambassador to China Serge Abou said on Tuesday.
Serge Abou made the remarks when he answered a question from a netizen of the Strong China Forum, a feature of the People's Daily Online. He paid a visit to the People's Daily Online Tuesday afternoon, and communicated with netizens under the topic "EU and the new starting point of China-Eu relations".
"There are indeed competition between EU and Chinese enterprises. This is natural since there is competition wherever there is trade and economy. Without competition there will be no development," said Serge Abou.
China's development posed new challenges to EU since China has become a very big trading country and economy in the world. The EU should make some adjustments to adapt to the new situation.
As China's largest export destination and its largest partner in trade, investment and sci-tech cooperation, EU is enjoying a strategic partnership with China. China has also provided EU many opportunities instead of posing threats, Serge Abou added.
Serge Abou believed EU is not rivaling with China, but working and growing together with China. This is the core of EU's China policy.
