Dollar slips to lower 119 yen in Tokyo

The U.S. dollar dropped into the lower 119 yen level and the euro slipped into the upper 161 yen range Tuesday in Tokyo.

At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 119.30-32 yen compared with Monday's 5 p.m. quotes of 119.69-79 yen in New York and 119.49-51 yen in Tokyo.

It moved between 119.12 yen and 119.82 yen during the day, trading most frequently at 119.60 yen.

The euro remained firm against the dollar. At 5 p.m., it was quoted at 1.3539-3541 dollars and 161.53-161.57 yen against Monday 's 5 p.m. quotes of 1.3529-3539 dollars and 161.99-162.09 yen in New York and 1.3554-3556 dollars and 161.96-162.00 yen in Tokyo.
