A two-day Chinese Cultural Exhibition opened on Wednesday at the Jordanian University for Science and Technology.

The exhibition, which is organized by the Chinese Embassy in Amman in cooperation with Deanship of the Students' Affairs at the University, aims at featuring the cultural diversity and vitality of contemporary China as well as China's ancient history and custom.

More than 80 photos were displayed on three topics, namely China's cultural traditions, China's policy in building a harmonious society and wishes for expanding cultural exchanges.

The Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Gong Xiaosheng said at the opening ceremony that the exhibition provides an opportunity to promote understanding of China and strengthen friendly bilateral relations between the two countries.

President of the Jordanian University for Science and Technology Wajih Oweis, for his part, said that the event would be a start to establish cooperation between the university and Chinese academic institutions.

He hoped that the exhibition would enable students of the university to get acquainted with the Chinese culture.
