Vietnamese top legislator Nguyen Phu Trong said here Wednesday his official goodwill visit to China from April 8 to 15 has substantially enhanced political trust, helping boost the relations between the two countries.
Trong, chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, made the remarks while hosting a banquet for Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hu Qianwen.
The visit is successful, Trong said, noting that it is his first tour to China as top legislator. He said during the trip, Chinese top leaders as well as local authorities received him solemnly and affectionately, which reflects China's comradeship and brotherhood towards Vietnam.
Trong said his meetings with Chinese President Hu Jintao, Chinese top legislator Wu Bangguo and Chinese top political advisor Jia Qinglin have also helped strengthen economic and trade ties between Vietnam and China, and step up the friendship and cooperation between the two countries' top legislatures.
For his part, the Chinese ambassador expressed his congratulations on Trong's successful visit, and his hope that China and Vietnam will make further efforts to ceaselessly promote their friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive cooperation, bringing about practical benefits to the two peoples.
