The international reserves of Malaysia's central bank amounted to 309.2 billion ringgit (89.5 billion U.S. dollars) as at April 13, the bank said Friday.

"The reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.2 months of retained imports and is 9.1 times the short-term external debt," the bank said in a statement.

The bank's international reserves stood at 305.9 billion ringgit (88.6 billion U.S. dollars) at end-March this year.
