CPC senior official meets Namibian party leader
font size

Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met in Beijing Friday with Ngarikutuke Tjiriange, general secretary of Namibia's ruling South West African People's Organization (SWAPO).

Li recalled the visit by Chinese President Hu Jintao to Namibia this February, during which the two countries agreed to further develop relations. He pledged to work with Namibia to carry out the agreements.

He said the exchanges between the CPC and SWAPO have laid the foundation for the development of state-to-state relations.

Li said China wanted to promote common prosperity with Africa according to the principles of sincerity, amity, mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit.

Tjiriange praised China for its unconditional assistance to Africa and reaffirmed Namibia's adherence to the one-China policy.
