An ambassador delegation of European Union (EU) headed by German ambassador to China Volker Stanzel visited Zhengzhou in central China's Henan province on Friday.
The 35-member delegation also includes Serge Abou, EU ambassador to China, Portuguese ambassador to China Rui Quartin Santos and Luxemburg's ambassador to China Marc Ungeheuer.
The delegates delivered speeches on strategic cooperative relationship between China and EU on Friday afternoon at Zhengzhou University.
In his speech, Stanzel pointed out that EU and China should conduct constructive cooperation and be strategic partners to confront the challenges of globalization.
"China is EU's reliable partner," said Abou, adding EU regards China's rise not as a menace, but as a chance for EU.
Invited by Henan provincial government, the delegation will also tour Henan's historical cities including Kaifeng, Luoyang and Anyang.
